Finding your host, port and credentials
Updated 2 min read
Every proxy you own has its own page in the dashboard with the address to dial, the port, the protocol and the credentials. Copy them from there rather than assembling a connection string by hand.
Steps
-
In the sidebar, under Proxies, open the line: ISP or Datacenter.
-
Select the proxy in the list. Its page opens.
-
Read the Connection card:
Field Contents EndpointThe host to connect toAuthenticationUsername and password or IP allowlistUsername, PasswordThe proxy credentials; the password is masked until revealedProtocolThe protocol this proxy speaks and its port -
To copy a ready-made string, use Copy in a different format and pick the layout your software expects.
Several proxies at once
On the line's list, select the proxies, then Export. Choose a Format such as HOST:PORT:USER:PASS or USER:PASS@HOST:PORT, and download as TXT or CSV.
Code to start from
The Integration examples card on each proxy page has snippets for cURL, Python, Node.js, PHP, Go, Java and C#. Each one connects through that proxy and prints the exit address, so a successful run is also a working test.
If something is missing
| What you see | Meaning |
|---|---|
This proxy has no address |
The proxy expired and its address was returned. If its page offers Reactivate, use it; otherwise a new order is needed. |
No gateway to show for this proxy |
The credentials are current, but the gateway address is not shown. Write to support@proxyforge.io. |
Pending and Address not available yet |
The proxy is still being set up. If it stays that way, or the proxy is not listed at all, open the order under Orders and contact support with the order number. |
The How to connect card shows the address sites see. Where that address changes between sessions, always dial the gateway or endpoint, never the exit address.
