Securing your account

Updated 2 min read

Account security settings are under My account > Security in the dashboard. Turn on two-factor authentication and review your sign-ins; proxy credentials are managed separately, on each proxy.

Turn on two-factor authentication

  1. Open My account > Security.
  2. Under Two-factor authentication, find Authenticator app and select Set up.
  3. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, or enter the Setup key by hand.
  4. Enter the six-digit code the app shows and select Turn on.

Sign out and in again to confirm that the login now asks for a code at Two-step verification. If it does not, write to support@proxyforge.io. Register the authenticator on a device you will keep. If you lose access to it, write to support@proxyforge.io; restoring access is handled by a member of staff.

Change your password

  1. Under Password, select Change password.
  2. Enter Current password, then New password and Confirm new password.
  3. Select Save password.

If you cannot sign in, use Forgot your password? on the login page. The reset link arrives by email.

Review where you are signed in

Where you are signed in lists recent sign-ins with device, location and IP address. If one is not yours:

  1. Change your password.
  2. If another sign-in is still listed, select Sign out everywhere else.
  3. Write to support@proxyforge.io if orders or payments you did not make appear.

Proxy credentials

Each proxy has its own username and password, separate from your login. To replace a proxy password, open the proxy and select Generate a new password. The old password stops working immediately. See Authenticating with username and password.

Things only support can change

The email address on the account cannot be changed from the dashboard. Write to support@proxyforge.io from the current address.
