Changing speed and concurrency on a static proxy
Updated 2 min read
A static proxy has an uplink speed and a concurrency limit, the number of connections it carries at once. Both start at the plan's default. They are not chosen at checkout; where a proxy offers upgrades, you change them on the proxy afterwards.
Check the current values
Open the proxy's page. Where a proxy offers changes, the Capacity card shows Uplink speed and Concurrency, each with its own button. If they are not there, that proxy does not offer upgrades. At checkout, each plan card says Speed upgrades available or No speed upgrades.
Raise or lower a tier
- On the Capacity card, select Upgrade / downgrade speed or Upgrade / downgrade concurrency.
- Pick a tier from the list. The dialog shows the price before you confirm.
- Confirm. The charge is taken from your balance.
| Change | Charged | Takes effect |
|---|---|---|
Up to a higher tier |
Once, now, for the rest of the current term |

Down to a lower tier |
No charge |
At your next renewal |
A part month counts as a whole month; there is no pro-rata. A paid upgrade is added to the price of later renewals.
Before upgrading
Measure first. A slow transfer is often the target, the distance to it, or too many parallel requests on one address. Test this proxy on the proxy's page dials it the way your client would and reports whether it answers and its response time, without touching your balance.
