Extending, auto-buy and expiry for ISP and datacenter
Updated 2 min read
An ISP or datacenter proxy runs until the date in Expires on its page. Nothing renews unless you extend it or switch on Auto-buy. When it expires, its address stops working, with no grace period.
Extend by hand
- Open the proxy's page and select Buy more time (or Extend in the row menu on the list).
- Under How much time to buy, choose 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.
- Confirm. The charge is taken from your balance once.
The same proxy is extended, so it keeps its address and credentials. The new expiry date shows on the page when the purchase completes.
Renew automatically with auto-buy
- On the proxy's page, switch on Auto-buy on the status card.
- Keep enough in your balance for one month of the proxy.
With auto-buy on, the proxy buys one more month before it expires. The charge can be taken up to 48 hours before the expiry date. If the balance is short, you receive one email, and the renewal is retried until the proxy expires. Automatic deposits on a saved card can keep the balance topped up; see Adding funds to your wallet.
To stop renewing, switch Auto-buy off before it charges.
Reminders
With auto-buy off, an email reminder is sent 3 days and again 1 hour before a proxy expires. Email categories, including Expiring services, are set under My account > Notifications.
After expiry: reactivate
An expired proxy can be brought back on the same address for a limited time, while that address is still free.
- Open the expired proxy, or select several on the list.
- Select Reactivate and choose the Term to buy.
- Confirm. The total includes a one-time Reactivation fee.
The new term starts on the day you reactivate; the days the proxy spent expired are not credited. Reactivation is possible for up to 10 days after expiry. After that, or once the address has been reassigned, Reactivate is no longer offered for the proxy, and a new order is needed.
