Replacing a static address that a target has blocked
Updated 2 min read
An ISP or datacenter address does not change by itself, so a block on it lasts until the site lifts it. Check first whether the dashboard offers a free replacement; otherwise, ask support.
Option 1: Replace a proxy, at no charge
When the account is owed a replacement, Replace a proxy appears on the proxy's page.
- Select Replace a proxy. The page lists the proxies eligible for a free replacement.
- Select Replace this proxy on the row, then Replace it.
The proxy keeps its credentials, its term and its allowance, and moves to a new address chosen for you in the same country. The old address stops working as soon as the swap completes. Check the connection details on the proxy's page afterwards. If the page says Nothing to replace, no proxy is eligible right now.
Option 2: ask support
Select Report an issue on the proxy's page and choose Blocked by the target site, or write to support@proxyforge.io with the evidence listed in Reporting a blocked target: required information. See also Raising a ticket about a proxy from the dashboard.
After any replacement
Update everything that dials the old address, and any third-party allowlist that holds it.
A new address does not fix a block caused by the request pattern. If the same target blocks the new address quickly, lower the request rate or spread the work across more addresses. See Verifying a static IP proxy.
