Connection data, privacy and retention
Updated 1 min read
The network records metadata about each connection, not its content. Requests and responses that pass through the proxy are not inspected, stored or sold.
What is recorded
| Record | Contents | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
Connection metadata |
Timestamps, the responsible account, bytes transferred, destination hostname, exit address |
30 days |
Server and security logs |
Sign-ins and account activity, including IP address and browser details |
30 days |
Billing records and invoices |
Top-ups, orders, invoices, billing details |
7 years after the transaction |
Support correspondence |
Messages and attachments you send |
While the account is open, then 24 months after the last contact |
Connection metadata is used to bill traffic, measure service levels, investigate abuse reports and resolve disputes. The privacy notice has the complete list, including verification records.
Payment details
Card details are entered with the card processor and never reach ProxyForge systems. Only a transaction reference and limited details, such as the card brand and last four digits, are kept.
Exercising your data rights
- Write to the privacy address given in section 1 of the privacy notice.
- State which right you are exercising: access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability.
- Expect to be asked to confirm your identity before the request is carried out.
When you process personal data through the network, the data processing addendum applies. See Requesting a DPA and compliance documents.
